ABSTRACT

My program is a space that will aid people in reconnecting with their senses and with each other. There will be a specific function for each sense in order for the users to have a choice in what activity they would like to participate in. Other functions like a restaurant, lounge area, and a memory pods will be provided. The memory pod is placed in order to welcome the users and portray past experiences of people in order for the new users to get a feel of the space before they participate in any of the functions. The functions that represent each sense of sight, touch, hear, smell, and taste are spray-painting and photography, pottery, dance, perfume and culinary studios, respectively.
The design element consists of two abstractions put together in order to make the space more relatable to today’s society. The roots of plants in nature resemble the nerve membrane connection we have in our minds. Bluetooth in today’s world represents connection for most millennials. I decided to abstract the angles in the two and combine it together in order to integrate nature and technology in a very subtle manner throughout the space. In addition, the formulation of the spaces are done by utilizing those angles. This design element is placed in the center of the space and extends through to the second floor. On this design element, there will be a projection of the activities that can be done throughout the space. On the bottom floor, people will be able to walk through it in order to not only see this technological aspect, but experience it with all their other senses as well.
that will draw one to come and experience this space themselves.

The result is a scheme that’s evocative of lazy, Mediterranean farmhouses, where the warmth of the afternoon heat has you running indoors to rest your feet on the cool terracotta-tiled floor.

This is a calm and soothing scheme that is colourful without being bright or bold, it exudes understated elegance in a new and sophisticated way.

With its rusty, warm undertones, Terracotta is the earthy evolvement of everyone’s favourite blush pink trend; this is a great natural palette for anyone who wants to embrace the warmth of summer without the brighter shades we are seeing in the ice cream pastels trend.
